Viva Journal – Motion Graphic / 3D Animation Film

Working with ‘We Are’ creative agency we created this short animated video highlighting the ‘Viva’ project, a charitable event from SITA whereby staff get paid leave to help organise fund raising events in their part of the world.

After a photoshoot at ”We Are’ we were able to take the still images and stitch them together, adding in lighting effects and animations on the watch and iPhone to create a realistic live environment. We created the 3D Journal in the award winning software ‘Lightwave’ and composited the final film in Adobe After Effects.

Working with creative agencies like ‘We Are’ is always a great experience. Bringing their ideas to life is what we love doing. Basically, if you can think it, we can create it.

Town Hall Tavern – Your place, in the city..

Town Hall Tavern, brought to you by Timothy Taylor, is an eclectic gastropub in Leeds city centre serving fresh, locally sourced British food, quality cocktails, fine wines and traditional cask ales, with excellent Yorkshire hospitality.

The pub is a historic Leeds venue, dating back to 1926 that re-launched in May 2011. Traditionally, it was used by solicitors and policemen who would sit on one side of the pub preparing for their cases, with the accused making the most of what could have been their last moments of freedom, drinking on the other side.

From the outside the Tavern does not really reveal the standard of the atmosphere inside. So the Brewery requested a film that not only shows the interior, but also gives the viewer a warm and welcoming feeling and a glimpse of the amazing menu.

We loved the way this film came together, we used the new Panasonic AF101 for great photography shots,  capturing the warm welcome of the staff and their customers all mixed in with a great sound track. We also loved the sample plates of food & deserts, as we didn’t want to waste any now did we?

Parragon Books – 2D & 3D animation

Working with one of Scotland’s largest creative agencies, Elastic Creative we created this film for internal distribution across Parragons global network. Elastic provided the brief and storyboard giving us a clear direction for the final film.

Motiv’s ethos of; “If you can think it, we can create it” meant that Elastics request for flying bulbs which evolve into flying books was right up our digital street. Animations like these make the film very memorable whilst highlighting exactly what Parragon wanted to say within the production.

After filming at Parragons’ Bath Head Office we set about collating all the assets, building 3D books, organising a choice of voice-over artistes and, as it was clear that this production needed more than stock royalty free music, we engaged the services of our music production partners to create a bespoke sound track including sound effects.

Providing our clients with a targeted choice of  music and voice overs not only ensures we can guarantee the quality of the work but also saves them valuable  time from going through endless suppliers and variations.

The film is currently being translated into four languages for international Parragon distribution.

Ruby Prom Catwalk videos

Working in partnership with professional photographers ‘Photography Works’ of Mirfield, we produced over 60 video clips of dresses and accessories for new on-line retailer ‘Ruby Prom’.

The majority of the videos were ‘Catwalk’ style clips highlighting the various dresses available to purchase. These videos are to be shown on their respective pages with detailed still photography shots. The ability to have video along with still photographs enhances the shoppers experience as they can see how the individual dresses move when worn as well as seeing the items through 360 degrees.

Shot in the studio, the client were extremely satisfied with the quality of the HD footage which shows the colour and detail of the dresses and accessories in fine detail. Plans are in motion for the next range of clothing to be filmed.

Vismo GPS Tracking animation

Cell Hire Group came to us with with the request for a stand out video for their ‘Vismo’ GPS Tracking system for smart phones. The film to be shown on their new website and at corporate marketing events across the UK &  US. It had to be different, memorable and give viewers the facts within 2 minutes.

Cell Hire had seen a range of Motion Graphic videos that we have created and liked the idea of Animation to really give this project a unique feel. After discussions with Cell Hire about the type of animation and script, we produced detailed storyboards and sample graphics to get the look and feel of the film.

Using a mixture of Flash and After Effects, a great sound track and sound design, our team produced this attractive film that definitely stands out from the crowd. Feedback from thier first conference in Florida, was that the film was well received, attraction great interest and standing out from the other videos being shown there. Cell Hire’s targets for generated enquiries was exceeded. One in a series of three films commissioned by Cell Hire.

Case Study – SITA project

Motiv teamed up with ‘We Are’ one of Sheffields leading digital branding agencies to produce a Motion Graphics presentation for ‘Sita’; provider of global information and telecommunication solutions for the air transport industry.

Working from detailed storyboards designed by ‘We Are’, we created this project using Kinetic Type, 2D and 3D Motion Graphics. With great use of photo images and video content this production delivered the message the client wanted in a clear and effective way.

Communication was key with this project due to a short deadline as the video was being shown to Airport industry key personnel at an event in Brussels. Each stage was checked by the client to ensure it met their high standards and to allow them to check that the storyboards looked as good in motion as on a static page.

Once Motiv confirm a job and it’s deadlines, we ensure that the end project is delivered on time and on budget.

Feedback from ‘We Are’:

‘We Are’ said: “Just wanted to say a massive thanks for all the hard work that you’ve put into the SITA movie.

The commitment that Motiv and especially Alex and Russ have shown throughout the project has been absolutely outstanding. Their level of communication has been brilliant. And while at times the project was very testing, their high level of professionalism has been unquestionable.

Everyone both at We Are and at SITA are extremely happy with the end result and we look forward to working with you again.”

Case Study – Sime Boilers

Motiv were commissioned to produce a training film for an Italian boiler company SIME who were now exporting their products to Canada.

The DVD’s were to be used by engineers and plumbers who would be new to the European style boilers and Sime wanted to introduce their new customer base to the full features of the systems and how easy they are to fit.

Motiv provided the option of creating an Interactive CD-Rom which could not only hold video content but also other files such as Word Docs, PDF’s, Conversion Calculators and Photographic images which would create a full training package for the customers.

Sime loved the idea and the facilitiy to have Sales Brochures, Technical Diagrams, Product Key Features and Parts Lists on the one disc that could be viewed or printed as and when required.

Motiv built the full bespoke interface keeping the Sime branding throughout, we also produced various video clips which showed how to fit and test the different range of boilers. We used a Canadian voice for the instructions.

The discs were recieved so well that we were re-commissioned to produce a training package for Sime Australian division, plus a SOLAR panel fitting DVD and a UK version of the Canadian disc.

Case Study – Jump Money

Financial Services provider ‘Jump Money’ contacted Motiv to produce a Motion Graphics based video that would introduce new clients to Jump, who they are and why they are not like comparison websites.

The video is to play on Jump Moneys home page and had to be short, to the point yet get all the main points across in an interesting way.

We discussed the use of ‘Kinetic Type’ which is a way of creating engaging graphics and motion from different typefaces. Utilising this method with a contemporary sound track and voice over would produce a film that would tick all the briefs boxes.

Jump jumped at the chance and we started by taking their large script and compressing it down to the relevant points such as the branded products they provide, one to one advice and environmental policy. From there we gave Jump a selection of voice over artistes to choose from that we had short-listed based on their brief.

Finally we produced a great sound track that has a lively, friendly feeling that works very well with this type of motion graphics. Once the voice over was completed we got stuck in to get the graphics completed in the week, allowing Jump to check the progress with regular updates and samples.

We are proud of the finished film and have been asked by Jump to produce their next set of videos which will be coming soon, like the Jump family below;

Case Study – Leeds College of Building

As part of the re-branding of Leeds College of Building, Motiv was asked to produce 5 videos to highlight different aspects of the college, it’s facilities, courses and apprenticeship schemes.

We discussed with the college creating moving graphics based on their new logo and illustrations which were already designed. This produced a seamless integration between their new website, press advertising, leaflets and radio spots. When potential students followed the web link they would find a library of films which, within a few minutes detailed in video what normally lengthy pages of web text would get across.

The colleges students are web savvi and used to viewing You-tube videos so this was a great way to engage with them.
